A British couple in quarantine in the middle of Istanbul Turkey Press Release
Marianne and Chris from United Kingdom rented out their 6-room house in England and bought a trailer...
And they've been around the world ever since.
And they arrived on the 3rd of their World Tour in January...
They left the UK, passed 14 countries.
They planned 20 countries in 20 months.
They arrived in Turkey in early March. And while touring Istanbul, the scourge of Corona began.
Then the quarantine...
Just when they were thinking,” What shall we do? " the doors closed. The world is locked down.
Quarantined...
They found a place in a park in Fatih Istanbul. It was good for the trailer...
Thousands of miles from their country...
In the middle of Istanbul Turkey... They were in the Turkish homes of people they didn't know.
And a park right in the middle of an apartment building.
They waited in shame under the gaze from the balconies.
But look what happened next.
They came across something they had never seen in their lives, and perhaps never saw...
“Neighbor”...
Yeah, “the spirit of neighborhood.”..
First came from Fatih Municipality and said, " Welcome, do you need anything?” they asked him.
They were relieved...
Then they came again.
But this time the city official came with a package. The package is open. It's got pancakes that smell good.
In the middle of Istanbul... The British couple who were quarantined with their caravans in conqueror, said the official from Fatih Municipality:
“You do not go out, let us know your wishes, we will provide you.”
The fishers were even more surprised.
But friends, what really surprised them was the “neighbourhood.”
Turkish national Ladies waving from across the block in the morning.
She smiles at them, saying “Hellooo” to Marianne, who replies " Huuuu."
And then the neighbors, who said,” I'm sending you stuffed with our boy, " brewed evening teas...
Marianne became so friendly with the neighbors as the days passed... It was now a Turkish tradition to greet neighbors on balconies in the morning.
Marianne also befriended the neighborhood dog. He fed it every day.
Chris explains what happened: "believe me, while the world was panicking with this virus, people were running away from each other, people here took us into their families in Turkey. They embraced... They said,’ You're neighbors now.' Now we are happy with our neighbors in Istanbul with our 6-meter caravan. It's a good thing we got quarantined here. The most important thing is that we still retain the power to make jokes and laugh. You can do it.”
