Construction Cost Index Rises


Construction Cost Index Rose 10.76 Per Cent Year-On-Year

The Turkish construction cost index rose 10.76 per cent year-on-year and 1.01 per cent month-on-month in December 2019.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) announced construction cost index data for the period of December 2019. The construction cost index increased 1.01 per cent in December 2019 compared to the previous month and 10.76 per cent compared to the same month the previous year. Compared to the previous month, the materials index rose 1.23 percent and the labor index rose 0.57 percent. In addition, materials index 4.93 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, labor index 25.55 percent increased.

Turkey building construction cost index was up 0.83 percent from the previous month and 11.04 percent from the same month the previous year. Compared to the previous month, the real estate materials index rose 1.01 percent and the labor index rose 0.46 percent. Also compared to the same month of the previous year, Materials Index rose 5.12 percent and labor index increased 25.70 percent.

The construction cost index in Turkey for non-building structures rose 1.66 percent from the previous month and 9.84 percent from the same month a year earlier. Compared to the previous month, the Turkish materials index rose 1.95 percent and the labor index rose 0.98 percent. In addition, materials index 4.33 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, labor index increased 24.96 percent.
