In December 2020, the construction cost index increased by 25.02 percent year-on-year and 2.68 percent month-on-month.

TURKEY CONSTRUCTION COST INDEX UP 25.02 PER CENT YEAR-ON-YEAR

• Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the 2020 December Turkish Construction Cost Index data. Accordingly, the construction cost index increased by 25.02 percent in December 2020 from 2.68 percent the previous month for all over Turkey.

• Compared to the previous month, the materials index rose 3.74 percent and the labor index rose 0.20 percent. In addition, compared to the same month of the previous year, the materials index increased by 30.34 percent, and the labor index increased by 13.74 percent.

TURKEY BUILDING CONSTRUCTION COST INDEX UP 25.09 PERCENT YEAR-ON-YEAR

• Turkey building construction cost index rose 2.74 percent from the previous month and 25.09 percent from the same month a year earlier. Compared to the previous month, the materials index rose 3.86 percent and the labor index rose 0.18 percent. In addition, compared to the same month of the previous year, the materials index increased by 30.48 percent, and the labor index increased by 13.96 percent.

• The construction cost in Turkey index for non-building structures rose 2.51 percent from the previous month and 24.79 percent from the same month a year earlier. Compared to the previous month, the materials index rose 3.38 percent and the labor index rose 0.27 percent. In addition, compared to the same month of the previous year, the materials index increased by 29.93 percent, and the Turkey labor index increased by 12.96 percent.
